TILT collaborated with international lighting artist Yann Kersalé to create an integrated LED lighting system at One Central Park. Described as a chandelier for the city, the heliostat reflectors transform into a theatrical lighting display at night, illuminating the towers.
The installation is made up of 2880 individual LED nodes with each node containing six LED’s. TILT completed a hardware review to identify lighting solutions that matched the architectural intent, artistic intent, and project budget. Prototypes were made to assess the effectiveness of the lighting options and various arrangements.
TILT integrated the hardware into the reflector design to match the artists technical objectives and also designed custom connectors and maintenance procedures.
